Vizco's Baguio : Strawberry Shortcake is Life!

My friend, Jason, texted me while we were on our way to Baguio and said I had to try the strawberry shortcake at Vizco's.  Knowing our schedule the next day might be full, I decided that we could have breakfast at Vizco's once we arrive.

The problem was we were too early but since we didn't have any other place to go at that time, we just hanged out in front like a couple of losers :D

When the store opened all the tables on the ground floor was quickly filled up in about 5-10 minutes. Maybe not such a bad move after all in deciding to wait for it to be opened. Lol.

I've read somewhere (maybe on their menu) that their tapa and tocino was home made. It was good, not great but a bit expensive for P120 (tocino) - P175 (tapa). The hot chocolate was nothing special as well and tasted like a sweeter version of Milo. 

But we were there for the Strawberry Shortcake anyway. 

the star of the show

I will be fair in saying it wasn't strawberry season so the strawberry on top was a bit sour. The sponge cake was fluffy though and the cream on the center was generous and creamy. The whipped cream on top was not to sweet. All in all, better than most Strawberry Shortcake I've tasted. I wished it was summer so the strawberry could really shine. Oh, by the way, the thick gelatin coating on top was a bit off putting.

Overall Verdict

Lots of possibilities. Would love to try it again in the summer.
